WELCOME TO LIFEVIEW
OUR LIFEVIEW
Given that life takes its downturns and detours, even the most positive of us could benefit from some support along the way. Our team of seasoned, life-loving therapists have walked in your shoes. We all know what it’s like, which is why we’re here — to give you a soft place to land. To contemplate life, and to consider the hope that things can be a bit brighter. It’s our Lifeview.
HOW WE HELP
INDIVIDUALS
COUPLES
Lifeview counselors give couples space to speak freely and be heard. You’ll be encouraged to share your personal thoughts and feelings rather than speak for your spouse. The sacred covenant of marriage requires growth in acts of kindness, awareness, communication, openness to thoughtful counsel, and a sense of humor. Come prepared – to share your vision for your marriage, assess your commitment to growth, and take responsibility for your own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
KIDS AND TEENS
Lifeview counselors and play therapists give young people a safe place to process their emotions, while working closely with their parents to ensure progress at home. Children, ages 3-10, are invited to the playroom, where the exploratory process invites child-directed play and supports emotional healing.
For teens, counselors help parents assess their boundaries and increase flexibility, based on the teen’s growing levels of responsibility. Parents also are encouraged to give teens room to experience the consequences of their choices -- allowing them to fail -- with the assurance that failure breeds growth and personal conviction. In addition, Lifeview counselors help parents stay engaged in their teens' interests, supporting their efforts to express their talents and gifts in wholesome and productive ways.
Child or teen therapy begins with an intake session with parents. It usually takes three sessions to build trust and rapport with a young person. After the first three sessions, Parents join the young person’s therapist each month to work through a collaborative exchange of observations and psychoeducational information. Progress continues in this manner as parents and counselors collaborate monthly to support change.
If counselors have any safety concerns, they make parents aware of those immediately. But, overall, it takes time to connect with a young person, and we encourage parents to be patient with the process.
We primarily offer counseling to individuals who are seeking self awareness, a new perspective and support to reclaim an improved quality of life.
SPIRITUAL DIRECTION
Spiritual Direction is offered upon request. ”Where is God in this?” is the question pondered. Meditation exercises, contemplation of Scripture, silence and solitude capture the contemplative practices that promote intimacy with God and with oneself, bringing a sense of peace in the circumstances life brings.
MEET OUR THERAPISTS
Lifeview counselors offer comfort, human presence, and a compassionate ear. But mental health is restored when you find strength to face the uncomfortable truth of your circumstances and grow from that truth. So, we invite you to come as you are. We will sit with you in your struggle, we will help you process it, and we will gently move you through it, toward growth. Growth is defined as improved self-awareness and intentional consideration of others.
